Bronte Campbell is a 3-time Olympic swimmer who has won 27 international medals over the course of her 11 year career. She is now chasing the dream for Paris 2024 Olympics, hoping to join the ranks of only 3 other Australian Swimmers who have made 4 Olympic teams.
Outside of the pool Bronte’s work with the Australian Swimmers Association as President and as Athlete Leader on the Dolphins Team (2016-2021), has fuelled her curiosity and knowledge on team performance and dynamics, team culture and how to create long term success and face uncertainty.
In 2012 Bronte was selected alongside her older sister Cate to compete in the London Olympics, becoming the first siblings selected on the team since the 70s and the first to compete in the same event. Throughout her career Cate and Bronte have competed against each other domestically and internationally and Bronte shares her unique stories on competitiveness, comparison and how to harness these for success.
Cate and Bronte have been key members of the Women’s 4x100m Freestyle relay team breaking World Records and winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth games, the 2016 Olympic Games and the 2021 Olympic Games. Bronte shares her insights on creating sustained success and how to create a conducive team environment in a highly individualistic sport.
Bronte’s 11 year career has been marred by injuries, which started in 2016 and are ongoing. Through the process of managing body and mind, Bronte has experience in overcoming adversity and how to deal with uncertainty and doubt. It is her belief that, though her injuries hamper her body, through listening to her body and being creative in the face of the challenge they pose, they have made her a better all round athlete and better adjusted to life challenges.
