Cat
Drysdale

Graphic Recorder & Visual Storyteller

She/Her

Visualising complexity to simplicity

Profile

Graphic recording, also known as visual recording or live scribing, is the process of capturing ideas and concepts in real-time through a combination of words, drawings, and images.

Cat Drysdale often finds herself in a new location each week working at conferences, workshops, and other events where she visually documents discussions, presentations, and brainstorming sessions.

As the conversation unfolds, Cat translate’s key points, ideas, and themes into visual elements like illustrations, diagrams, charts, and text, creating a visual representation of the content being discussed.

Cat has over 13 years’ of experience working as a graphic recorder and facilitator on hundreds of events and conferences both in Australia and internationally.

Cat has a remarkable ability to unravel complex issues and concepts. Through live graphic scribing and visual modeling, she adeptly transforms the intricate into the understandable.

Beyond operating her own venture, Cat sits on the committee for Graphic Recorders Australia and New Zealand, as part of her personal commitment to advance and uplift the field.

Feedback
I recently worked with Cat and was delighted by the experience. Cat was capturing a workshop at the AHRI national convention; initially intended to be in person, the session was switched to virtual at the last minute and both co-facilitators were in different states! Cat pivoted easily, immediately grasped the session and context and was well prepared. In the session, she made intelligent content choices which resulted in a clear and succinct scribe that was also visually appealing. Many of the attendees called her work out as a highlight. PwC Australia

Cat is an astute and careful observer of business, government and social ideas and captures participant conversations on these topics in a fresh and engaging way. Her graphic facilitation has helped thousands of workshop participants understand complex ideas and pursue meaningful solutions. Her work approach is always reliable and professional - but most of all fun.
