With a winning record above 70%, Craig is part of an elite group of coaches around the world that includes the likes of Phil Jackson & Gregg Popovich (NBA), Vince Lombardi & Bill Belichick (NFL).
Craig's winning record combined with his honest and simple communication, impressive football brain and belief in empowering his players have placed him in a category reserved for the greatest coaches in the sporting world.
Born and raised in the small country town of Portland, NSW, Craig began his professional career in the NRL as a player for the Canberra Raiders where he spent 10 years and gained a reputation as one of the League's fiercest competitors. A few years after he finished his playing days, Craig found his true calling when he took an assistant coaching role at the Brisbane Broncos. This was a role that served as an important apprenticeship for his future.
In 2003, Craig took a leap of faith, moved his family to Melbourne and joined the Melbourne Storm, where he has remained ever since. As coach of the Melbourne Storm, he has led the team to an astonishing level of success and transformed the club into one of the most decorated franchises in Australian sport. In 2020, Craig led the Melbourne Storm to another Premiership, his fifth as coach of the Club.
Craig is a thought leader in the coaching world, his methods are studied both in Rugby League and other codes around the world. His ability to identify world-class talent and produce a tight-knit, winning team from a range of diverse individuals is remarkable.
