This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Most of us know we should eat better, but we don't do it. We can only bring about real change when we end this confusion and bring the joy back to food. Adopted by the nation as an honorary Aussie, Dr Joanna McMillan's ever-growing following is the result of her high profile within the media, health and fitness industries, and through her roles as Vice President of the Australian Lifestyle Medicine Association (ALMA), Ambassador for Diabetes Australia, and Ambassador for Australian Pineapples (to name a few). Joanna's advice on how to improve one's personal well-being through sensible exercise and better nutrition was well received by her audience of Rotarians and their partners at the annual conference. Her pleasant and informed approach to the subject was enthralling and she provided vital information with the right mix of humour and examples from her own life experiences. Joanna's delivery was both stimulating and challenging, such that many in the audience planned to make immediate changes to their own life styles in order to achieve more joy in their life. An excellent presentation!
I've seen Dr Joanna speak several times at different events and conferences - both virtually and live in person. Jo ticks every box you'd want in a speaker - she's THE expert in her space; she's super engaging and warm with her audience and she explains things in a way that makes you want to make a change to the way you live. She's also brilliant to work with - on the briefing calls, and on-site with the client, I always enjoy being around her Scottish charm !! ; ) If you're thinking of booking Jo for your event - I can't recommend her highly enough.
