Profile

A journalist for thirty-six years, John has spent the past thirty-three years working in television news.

Current experience:

He is currently a news presenter with the Seven Network and is a regular contributor to the Sunrise and Morning Show programs.

Previous experience:

Prior to this John was a senior anchor at Skynews Australia for fifteen years.

A widely respected newscaster, John spent fourteen years with National Nine News where he worked in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery and as the NSW State Political correspondent before he became the network's United States bureau chief based in Los Angeles.

John started a media training business ten years ago and five years ago took up the role of Director of Interview and Presentation training at global strategic communications group, FTI.

He is in demand as a Master of Ceremonies, after dinner speaker and seminar mediator.

John frequently donates his time to charity fundraisers. He is a past patron of the Make A Wish Foundation, a former steering committee member of Jeans For Genes, a past board member of OceanWatch and the Sydney Olympic Football Club. John is a past patron of the Trish Cairns Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation at St.Vincent's Hospital, and is the current patron for Friends In Giving which raises funds for the Sir David Martin Foundation.

John was recently honored by Life Education with the Golden Harold Award for his thirty year contribution to children's charities.

John is an official ambassador for the Sydney Swans Football Club, and has been bestowed with a Life Membership.
