Lauren Parker is an elite para-triathlete and cyclist. She is a 2020 Paralympic silver medallist, four-time para-triathlon world champion, Ironman 70.3 world champion, two-time Ironman world champion, and para-cycling time trial world champion.
Already driven and determined since her junior swimming days, Lauren went from elite triathlete to elite para-triathlete in the span of nine months – one of the fastest transitions to adapted sport on record. Prior to 2017 she was able-bodied professional athlete and had been an elite athlete most of her life, but on April 18th 2017 her life changed in a split second when she was involved in a bike accident which list her with many injuries, a broken spine and spinal cord damage. She was instantly paralysed from the waist down and told that same day that she would never walk again and would have to live the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
Lauren made it possible to get back into triathlon and in under 11 months won a bronze medal at the commonwealth games. She went onto to win 8 world titles to date.
Lauren continues to Inspire, and her goal for 2024 is to bring home 3 gold medals across two sports at the Paralympics in Paris. Her dream is to inspire as people and kids out there to never give up. Anything is possible if you believe.
