Michael Pompian is a leading speaker and writer on behavioral finance and wealth management topics globally. He is the author of “Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management” (Wiley 2006) and Advising Ultra Affluent Clients and Family Offices (Wiley 2009) and has authored articles that have appeared the Journal of Wealth Management and the Journal of Financial Planning. He has been interviewed for Money Magazine, The New York Times, CFA Magazine and other publications and has been interviewed on Bloomberg TV and CNBC. He contributes a regular column to Morningstar Advisor. Since 2007 he has given 15 speeches 5 countries while working full time.

Mr. Pompian is the Director of Private Wealth Investment Consulting at Hammond Associates, a St. Louis, Missouri USA firm serving both private wealth and institutional clients with over $50B in assets under advisement. Mr. Pompian advises some of the largest private families in the United States. Prior to joining Hammond Associates, Mr. Pompian was a Wealth Management Advisor at Merrill Lynch and a Private Banker at PNC Bank. Mr. Pompian also served on the investment staff of a single family office. Michael is married to his wife Angela and has three sons, Nicholas, Alexander, and Spencer. He enjoys soccer, skiing, writing and traveling.

Education: Mr. Pompian holds an MBA in Finance from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana USA and a BS in Management from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire USA. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA). He is a member of CFA Institute and the Financial Planning Association.
