Mike
Read

One of Australia's leading high performance coaches and workshop facilitators

Our greatest fear is not fear itself, but of how great we can be.

Profile

Mike Read has enjoyed an international 35-year career in the communication industry, spanning the fields of consumer marketing, advertising, innovation and now People & Culture. These diverse yet connected experiences have seen him build a reputation in and with many of the world’s leading organisations as a brand champion.

Having left the body corporate in 2005, where he was a Director at Grey Worldwide (London), part of the WPP Group, he decided to shift from a consumer brands focus to putting organisations, functions, teams and people as brands at the centre of his work.Since then, he has been working with C-suite executives and their teams on a diverse range of cultural engineering programmes, helping to raise individual, team and organisation wide performance. Whether via Executive Performance Coaching (team / individual), workshop facilitation or conference platforms, Mike has helped to facilitate meaningful and lasting change across a wide range of clients in multiple industry sectors and geographies.

This has been made possible by working with business leaders to identify core needs and opportunities, then co-creating and delivering scopes of work geared towards the sustainable realisation of potential at an organisation, function, team or individual level i.e. the pursuit of high-performance.

Since founding Pigs Can Fly Too (PCFT), Mike has also fulfilled consultancy roles as P&C Director at Wrigley ANZ, Starcom and Publicis, as well as facilitating and coaching with three leading Australian L&D providers: 6Degrees, pHuel and Wentworth People.

His skills span executive performance coaching (team and individual), workshop facilitation, team building, leadership development, business, brand & communication strategy and creative thinking.

He is accredited in the Herrmann (HBDI) & Lumina Leader profiling tools, Squadify (a real time team diagnostic), and is a Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) practitioner.

His infectious enthusiasm, no-nonsense approach and passion for what he does, quickly rubs off on others. He expects commitment, hard work, authenticity and vulnerability from his clients, and always shows up with these attributes front of mind. All while making engagements as enjoyable as possible.

Mike is able to deliver value for PCFT’s clients by drawing on behavioural science, researched frameworks, and his experience working with and for world famous businesses and brands including Bacardi, Bluescope Steel, CBA, Fairfax, GlaxoSmithKline, IPG Mediabrands, JC Decaux, Kellogg, KFC, Mars, Nestlé, nbnCo., News Corp., Paramount, Publicis Groupe, Snapchat, Toyota, Unilever & Virgin Australia to powerful effect.

Outside of his work, he loves spending time with his young family (Josh, Ava and Poppy) and friends, playing and watching sport (c’mon Chelsea & Freo!), cooking, entertaining, music and travel.
