Natalie
Barr

Journalist, Presenter & Co-host of Sunrise

Profile

Natalie Barr is a journalist, presenter and co-host on one of Australia's favourite breakfast TV shows, Sunrise. Born and raised in the small West Australian city of Bun Bury, Natalie attended Bun Bury Catholic College and studied journalism at Curtin University.

During the early years of her career, Natalie secured a cadetship at the community newspaper before being lured to television.

It was here that Natalie broke through to Perth's breakfast radio and freelanced for Nine Network, before moving to America and working at Los Angeles-based stations KABC, KTLA and KCOP.

In 1994 Natalie won a Golden Mic for Best Newscast Writing and a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award nomination for her work on KCOP's coverage of the OJ Simpson car chase.

Since returning home to Australia, Natalie has worked as both a reporter and presenter at Seven.

In July 2008, Barr began presenting Seven Early News alongside Mark Beretta at S.30am, which led her to Sunrise which she now cohosts. Natalie has reported live coverage of global events such as the Presidential inauguration of Barack Obama, the 2016 Presidential Election, the 2022 Academy Awards red carpet and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Natalie's experience informs her capability as a proficient host and MC, having co-hosted Carols in the Domain and multiple large-scale events throughout the years. As an ambassador for brands like Tourism WA and Dermaviduals, Natalie is passionate about cooking, fashion, travel and beauty, and regularly shares content concerning these interests on her Instagram.

Natalie is the perfect ambassador for brands seeking a dedicated, proactive representative who resonates with an audience of fashion-forward mature women.

Natalie was just wonderful. Can't say enough good words about her. Make-A-Wish Foundation

Nat was an absolute pleasure to work with - nothing was an issue - she was professional, outgoing, entertaining and had a great understanding of the brief which showed on the night. Nat was exactly the type of host we were looking for and i will recommend her to any of my colleagues who have an event coming up.

PIM Group

Natalie was an incredibly warm and friendly MC who really got involved with the celebration of our award winners. Our guests were clearly besotted with Natalie and she happily had her photo taken with many of them. She helped to set the warm tone of the lunch and we appreciate her dotting personal anecdotes throughout her presentation.
