Current work
Peter is currently living in Kenya, finishing his first book for publishers Penguin/Random House Riding with Giants, an autobiographical story.
Peter along with his wife, American photographer and humanitarian Alissa Everett, are currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. The couple work with a number of charities including relating to conservation and the refugee crisis including Exposing Hope founded by Everett and of which Holmes a Court is a director. Exposing Hope uses the power of photographs and inspirational narratives of individuals to raise awareness around underreported cases of human rights violations. In addition to creating awareness, they fundraise to support our partner organizations that work on the ground in these conflict zones.
Peter Holmes a'Court is also active as an international public speaker.
Previous experience
Published: Peter's articles and images have been published in The Guardian, The Australian, Huffington Post, Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald amongst others. His articles on the World Economic Forum in Davos have appeared in numerous publications over the last four years.
Executive: Peter's executive positions include the being founding Chairman of The Greater Sydney Partnership Limited and the Brand Sydney Initiative, the CEO of the Australian Agricultural Company, Australia's largest cattle enterprise, and Executive-Chairman of the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League team, winners of the 2014 National Rugby League championship.
TV: In 1993, he formed Back Row Productions which produced live shows in 30 countries and 300 cities with acts including the Australian show Tap Dogs, the UK's Eddie Izzard and the US's Jerry Seinfeld.
Education: Two filmed specials aired on PBS across the US.As a non-Executive Director he held positions at the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, Queensland Rail, Stoll Moss Theatres (London), and was a Trustee of the Queensland Performing Arts Trust. Peter read law at Oxford University and received his BA in economics at Middlebury College.
WEF: In January 2017 Peter was present at the World Economic Forum in Davos where discussion focused on the theme of Responsive and Responsible Leadership.' While at Davos Holmes a Court interviewed Microsoft co-founder and fellow philanthropist Bill Gates. A 60 Minutes special in March 2017 centred around his new life with Everett in Kenya and the new challenges this throws up as well as issues surrounding the refugee crisis, wildlife protection and conservation in Africa and lessons learnt along his current journey.
