With dreams of being a designer since she was a young girl, Rebecca Vallance used to visit her grandmothers property in Ballarat and make clothes together during the school holidays. After high school, she pursued a career in fashion PR and gained invaluable experience with the some of the world's most prestigious international brands.
Seven years ago, at the age of 31, Rebecca launched a collection of ready-to-wear womenswear that saw instant success. The Rebecca Vallance signature combines structured tailoring and unique luxurious fabrications which, combined with a global aesthetic, have seen her pieces become a favourite among the world's most stylish women.
The business began to flourish following the showing of her first collection in Paris, which immediately secured two accounts with luxury British department store, Harvey Nichols. Rebecca returned home to Australia and launched the brand locally in 2012 where it has an ever-growing and dedicated following.
Since then, Rebecca has proven to be one of Australia's leading fashion designers. In 2015 she was nominated by Marie Claire Magazine as Best New Up-and-Coming Australian Designer' and awarded Runner-Up in the International Woolmark Prize'.
The former fashion publicist's eponymous label has gone from strength to strength since it'ss conception. Halle Berry and Victoria's Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo were early adopters, and her cult following includes A- listers such as Karlie Kloss, Rachel McAdams, Chrissy Teigen, Jesinta Franklin, Paris Jackson, Christina Applegate, Joan Smalls, Sofia Vergara – to name a few.
Rebecca currently has four boutiques of her own, and is stocked in some of the world's most popular retailers from Harvey Nichols, MyTheresa, Harrods and the global e-retailer Net-A-Porter – every major retailer wants a piece of her tailored, sophisticated collections.
Behind Rebecca's success is a story of entrepreneurialism, hard work and determination, and a love of all things fashion.
