Talking Points
Gender Inequality - it's on your watch
Although the business case for diversity, equality and inclusion is stronger than ever, progress is slow. No country has achieved gender equality. The pandemic has set us back further. And whilst, most of us align to pledges, policies and processes that seek to accelerate change, it's not the same as holding ourselves to account.Gender Inequality - it's on your watch
Inequalities exist in our minds and they exist on our watch.
Part of addressing gender equality is standing up for women's rights, that's the easy bit. Part of it is calling out what is not right, creating change in the little things, sometimes for one person at a time.
As the daughter of a headstrong and brave Indian father that migrated the family from Bombay to regional Australia in the year the White Australia Policy ended, Sunita's story shows how powerful the actions of individual people can be in creating an equal and fair future for all Australians. And how the small actions of everyday people, in her case the banker and the butcher in a country town made a huge impact.
This 20-minute keynote asks what role do you play in accelerating change? It tables the facts on gender equality at an everyday level.
The onus for change is on each of us every day, the impact each of us can make, even one person at a time is significant.
What will you do to accelerate gender equality on your watch?

It all begins with meticulous preparation. Every word was chosen for the occasion. Sunita is known for being an infectious and energetic connector of people, of ideas, of content, of an audience to the stage, to an outcome.
Sunita's style is to be part of the room with warmth and empathy, be it small, large or around a dinner table giving guests and speakers permission and comfort to share.

I'm pleased to endorse Sunita Gloster as a strong and engaging event host. Sunita recently hosted Accenture Australia's flagship event to support International Women's Day which was broadcast to more than 1,500 employees and clients. Sunita's style is warm, confident and energetic. Her professionalism and meticulous research helped bring to life an inspiring 45 minute interview with former Prime Minister, Julia Gillard. Feedback on the event, and Sunita's role as host, has been overwhelmingly positive.
Sunita has MC'd, and also moderated conversations for the Trans-Tasman Business Circle on a couple of occasions. She moderated at The Future of Work briefing we held in April 2021, and also been the MC for David Thodey AM when he talked about Resilient Leaders in Challenging Times in August last year. Sunita moderated both the set questions, and the audience Q&A which followed. She kept pace with David, and challenged him at times too! The audience was thoroughly engaged, and all left the session with much to consider. From the tangible aspects of where and how we work, to the less tangible but no less important aspects of how we find our purpose and connect on a human to human level, all I can say is I'm thrilled that Sunita was involved in the conversation and shared her experiences with the panel for the Future of Work discussion. Sunita has a warm and engaging style; she has the ability to quickly read an audience, and engage at just the right level. We find she has a unique ability to keep the conversation on track, while ensuring each person has an opportunity to be involved. Because of her background in corporate Australia, she understands expectations and inspires the audience to deeper discussions. Whenever Sunita speaks, people listen! We know this because of the immediate and enthusiastic feedback from our audiences and as we have held over 250 virtual briefings in the past 18 months, we understand what works and what does not and the enthusiasm she engenders is quite out of the ordinary.
ANZ engaged Sunita Gloster as part of a bespoke programme, ANZ Doyenne, designed to increase the visibility of business women in the media. Sunita shared her global expertise on marketing, building a strong, and distinctive personal brand, and gave participants very clear tools, and frameworks to work with. Sunita was well researched, organised, made contact with all participants prior to speaking, and invested significant time and effort into her speaking slot. The feedback we received from participants was overwhelmingly positive. She is impactful, charismatic, clear, and inspirational. She galvanised all participants and immediately won both hearts and minds.
On IWD 2021 I had the honour of speaking at the UN Women Australia event in Sydney, in the company of some truly remarkable people - Yasmin Poole, Marise Payne, Liz Broderick and many others. After giving a most generous and personal introduction, the incredible force that is Sunita Gloster lead the audience in a 'reverse ovation' that had me bursting with love before I'd even reached the stage. What a sight to see; 1200 people standing and cheering in Sydney. Not only was that an incredible gesture from Sunita to make me feel safe and loved to tell my story, it was the epitome of empowerment. And for a speaker that tells a very personal story, Sunita's personal touch and humanity was very appreciated.
Sunita made a sparkling return to Gruen last year and we couldn't be happier to have her back. She brings enormous depth, experience and insight to our show and is a concise and masterful communicator. Her preparation is astounding, she always understands the brief and she can be bloody funny to boot!
